The Bright Spot

I was having a rough day yesterday, not because of my kids, just one of "those" days I suppose. I'd given up actually accomplishing anything so I sat on the porch reading a book while my kids were playing. It got quiet which usually is a sign of mischief but when I looked around this is what I saw...

If this couldn't turn my day around I don't know what would! I love my little sweeties!!!

The Cherry on Top

Many of you hoped that I dodged the flu myself. I'm happy to report that there has been no puking from me, however, I have STREP!

Other fun counters

While most of you have fun little counters on your blogs noting the number of days until your due, days left until your vacation, visitors to your blog, etc. I'd like to introduce the newest counters that I've come up with this weekend. Here's the background: Friday night was the "Father & Sons" campout and Garrett was stoked to go with his Dad! Rylee, on the other hand, was a little peeved to be excluded from the event. I told her we would do fun girl stuff - we went to the bookstore and she picked out a Rainbow Brite paper doll book, we went out to eat and watched Cinderella. She fell asleep at 7:30, which I'll be honest, was great. "Sweet" I thought "I can do whatever I want for the rest of the night. At 9:15 I headed upstairs to crawl in bed and finish reading "The Memory Keepers Daughter". Before I could walk down the hall I hear her bedroom door open and out walks Rylee with barf all over her hair and jammies. NICE! I plop her in the tub, clean up her room, change the sheets, etc. This routine continues several times during the night and by morning I hear someone in the garage. It's my boys back early from their campout. "Garrett started throwing up at 3:00am" says Daddy. So 18 hours into what I'm hoping is just the "24 Hour" flu I have a few counters for you...

  • Number of Pukes - 14 (11 from Rylee, 3 from Garrett)
  • Loads of Laundry - 10
  • Baths - 7
  • Miserable Kids - 2
  • Miserable Parents - 2
Snacking on a Pedialyte Popsicle (one of the only things Rylee could keep down).
