Garrett's End of School

Garrett's Kindergarten teacher had been working with her students for a couple months on the "Three Piggy Opera". Each child had a speaking and singing part. We came to watch the fruits of their labor in this darling play.

Garrett was the big Billy Goat.

He is a pretty shy guy but got up and delivered. I was so proud of him.

Although, not school related, Garrett lost his first tooth on May 6th. He had been working it over for a week or so and it finally popped out while eating a popsicle. HOORAY. He couldn't wait to leave it for the Tooth Fairy.

The dance festival brought many tears at our house. "I absolutely do not want to do the dance!" was all I heard all morning. I almost let him stay home because it's not a mandatory thing. Then I figured there are many things that we do whether we want to or not and so off we went to school.

I can't describe the excitement this little boy showed on his face when he actually got out there and did the ducky dance.

He did such a good job and was so proud of himself. A few little tears may have been shed by a mom who completely understands how hard it is to do something so far out of your comfort zone.

Good Job Garrett on your dance festival AND a great Kindergarten year! We love you!

Memorial Weekend

We had grand ambitions to go somewhere for Memorial Weekend...but it just didn't happen. I think I'm too tired to want to pack up everything for three kids and then pay to not get any sleep. So we opted for the zoo on Saturday. Garrett was so excited to see the new Zoorassic Park and had been counting down the days until it opened.

It was so busy but we had a great time just the same.

Jon hasn't been to the zoo since he was a kid so Garrett and Rylee were anxious to show him EVERYTHING!

Monday we went with Shellie, Jeremy, Madi and Jaden to see Kung Fu Panda 2.

We waited in line for almost an hour to ensure good seats...it paid off.

Austin's first movie experience.

The girls made hot chocolate back at Nana's. Why? Because in Utah on Memorial Day it can be 90 degrees or 50 degrees. This day was rather chilly.

Our sweet niece and nephew.

For dinner we went to Mom and Dad's for a barbeque and then visit the cemetery. Mom had little bits of info for our relatives and pictures to show the grandkids who we were talking about and it was really nice. My kids love the cemetery on Memorial Day, they could have walked around for hours looking at all the pretty flowers and finding interesting etchings on the headstones...such as the actual Parker's Drive In building on Mr. Parker's headstone!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 33 this year! I had a lovely day and enjoyed spending time with my family and not cooking. Thanks Mom for having us over for a yummy dinner and two cakes...almond cake and cheesecake. Lucky me!

U2 BABY!

Jon and I bought these U2 tickets a year and half ago and due to Bono's back surgery it was postponed. However, last year I didn't have a nursing baby who won't take a bottle so I figured I'd just sell my tickets. OH NO! If you have the World's Greatest Mom she'll arrange to drive up with you, drop you and your hubby off at the gates, take your children to her sister's house until the baby needs to nurse. Then she'll drive down to the stadium and with the special permission given to leave the stadium I'll run out to the parking lot where more special permission is granted to allow the WGM to drive right up to the curb where one can hop in, nurse baby and get back before U2 gets on stage. Of course that just happens if you've got the WGM - I am one lucky girl!

Sheri, Kim and myself. Cute hat eh? Thanks Kim for my early birthday present.

Bono! The man rocks!!!

Awesome stage!

Mother's Day

Jon was so cute this year and took the kids to pick presents out for my Mother's Day - including cards. Garrett came home so excited about the "hilarious" card he got. He did not disappoint.

Seriously, I couldn't stop laughing that my six year old son picked that card.

Ry picked out the pretty card, Austin "picked" the baby and monkey card and Jon got another great laugh out of me with his pick.

And here are three reasons I get to celebrate Mother's Day.

After church I took a lovely nap and then we had my mom and mom in-law for dinner. Jon thought a nice salmon dinner would be perfect until I asked who was going to prepare all of it. I wanted all the moms to have a relaxing day and that included ME, so I opted for Papa Murphy's pizza. It wasn't fancy but I think we were all able to just kick back and enjoy the evening.

I've been so blessed to have TWO fabulous mom's in my life not to mention incredible sisters who I look up to and learn from every day on how to be a better mom. They inspire me and I am truly grateful for them all.
Love you awesome ladies!!!

Baby in a high chair

It's a big deal around our house when baby can finally sit up in a high chair.

He gets a whole new perspective.
